World Irish Terriers

Irish Terriers at the world dog show were a little bit of a dissapointment for me, because of remoteness of the show place missing a broader range of the top dogs. For all that there was competition between both  American and English type of Irish Terrier in Oporto.The clear winner in dogs was Edbrios Aonghus, to whom except "luxury condition" (a bit fat) I couldn´t reprehend much. The second was Merrymac Limerick (brother of M. Lolapalooza operated here for short time), really gorgeous dog except the light ears. Winner of bitches was unexpressive bitch of american type. Croatian bitch from champion class was more typical, but ended up as the second only.

I was very pleased, that the beeder of winner dog Mr. O´Brien remembered very well two bitches from Czech breeding - Florex and spoke about them so highly. I am sure that several the best Irish Terriers from Czech breeding would do well not only in the world dog show ring. We have quality stock for further breeding, enthusiastic breeders and if will be able to use well the qualities of both types of Irish Terriers, our ones will be nightmare for European breders of both groups, which are not able or don´t  want to co-operate together.

Irští teriéři světově

Irětí teriéři na "světovce" byli pro mě trochu zklamáním. Díky odlehlosti místa konání chyběla opravdová a širší špička. Přesto i zde se odehrál souboj mezi americkým a anglickým typem irského teriéra. Ve psech po právu zvítězil irský Edbrios Aonghus, kterému mimo luxusnější kondice nešlo mnoho vytknout. Druhý skončil Merrymac Limerick (bratr u nás krátce působícího M. Lolapaloozy). ten byl veskrze nádherný mimo lehkých usí. Ve fenách zvítězila nevýrazná zástupkyně amerického typu. Chorvatská fena ze třídy šampiónů byla typičtější, nicméně odnesla si jen druhé místo.

Velmi mne potěšilo, že chovatel vítězného psa Mr. O´Brien si velmi dobře pamatoval 2 feny českého chovu - Florex a mluvil o nich v superlativech. Jsem si jistý, že několik nejlepších irčanů českého chovu by bylo nejen ozdobou výstavního kruhu světové výstavy. Máme materiál, se kterým se dá pracovat, nadšené chovatele a pokud dokážeme využít předností obou typů irčanů, budou naši irští teriéři postrachem pro evropské chovatele obou táborů, kteří spolu nedokáží nebo nechtějí spolupracovat.
